In this episode I share some of the most important products that every pageant woman needs there are 15 total. The veterans who have been competing for years know all about these products. I break them down one by one to tell you how I've used them, too.

Most of these products, you'll buy just once and use over the over again. You can buy them all on Amazon most of them are available for Prime members and if you bought them all at once, it'd cost less than $200 and you'd be set for a full year of appearances and competitions.

In the show notes on the website, I'll include for you an image of each individual product and a link to the full list of products on Amazon to make it easy on you.

As a pageant contestant, you know the importance of being memorable in your conversations, speeches, and especially your interview. The key to wow-ing your audience of listeners is to infuse certain elements into your conversation, interview, and public speeches that will leave a lasting impression and be memorable and valuable to the listeners.

The skills I learned as a professionally trained public speaker in Los Angeles would've been so valuable to me as a 20-something-year-old pageant woman. I want to share these tips today, because the more memorable and valuable your speech is, the more invitations you'll receive and the higher the payment you can demand.

In this episode, I want to share with you the 3 things you can infuse into every conversation you have to stand out, be memorable, and provide immense value.

Vision drives action. Action becomes habit. Habits lead to success. Without vision your actions are all over the place, running to the left and right, chasing the next shining thing, instead of staying the course toward the end goal...the ultimate vision...your big pageant success!

You've heard the Proverb that says, "Without vision the people perish." Well, without vision, a pageant girl loses.

When you have a vision, you can inspire people around you to join your movement. You can clearly communicate your goals and how you'll help others. You can confidently express your passion and people will want to be a part of what you're creating!

Every successful pageant woman has a vision. You need one too! In this episode, I break down the 3 steps you'll take to create your vision and take action toward your success.

Pageant girls know that packing for a pageant is no simple task. Every time we make a decision, we have to use a little piece of energy and willpower. The more decisions we make, the more energy we lose. During your pageant week, you can't afford to give up unnecessary energy on choosing which earrings to put with which shoes for which outfit. Or bothering with which outfit you meant for Thursday's adventure vs. the Friday's outing after interview. This stuff is important, you just need to take care of it before you leave for pageant week. In this episode, I'm going to break down the 7 steps of packing like a professional for your pageant, and I'll give a few pro tips to make it even easier. http://winapageant.com/61 Get the full show notes of this episode and more resources to win your pageant at: WinAPageant.com

Procrastination is defined as the avoidance of doing a task, which needs to be done, usually by doing more pleasurable or less urgent tasks thus putting off important tasks to a later time. Procrastination is caused by several things including pure laziness or low self-esteem, overwhelm, lack of clear direction, or an undefined vision of the end result. Motivation, self-esteem, clear direction and vision are all linked together. In pageantry, or any other quest for massive success, this is called a Strategy. When you have a strategy of how to get to where you’re going, you’re focus is not distracted, it’s laser-sharp, because you see the ultimate vision and it makes you salivate for success!

In this episode, I break down the 5 steps to clear your mind of clutter and get out of the hamster wheel of procrastination so you can finally win your pageant.

Most people (90%) are average in life and in pageants. That’swhy it’s such an honor to place in the Top 5 of 50 contestants.I’ve coached thousands of women all across the US in every majorpageant system, and the ones that end up in the top 10% are thedo-ers, not the dreamers. Every single woman competing in a pageanthas a dream – she believes she can make it to the top! She feelsalive when she envisions herself winning the title! She’spassionate and excited! But only 10% of women competing (who alsohave the dream, by the way), are do-ers. Only 10% of these womentake consistent and committed action toward their goal. The top 5are an elite group of action-takers that will likely be successfulno matter what they attempt to accomplish. Why? Because they aren’tafraid of what they don’t know.

In this episode, I’m going to share with you how to overcome thefear of the unknown and create a strategy for your pageant successthat will get you into the top 10% of elite pageant women.

In today’s episode I want to share with you a key to success. It’s simple, but it is not easy. It’s called Action.

Taking action is the number one thing that separates the good from the excellent – all the people with amazing ideas from those with amazing results. Taking actions means using the knowledge that you’re gaining from teachers, coaches, books, life wisdom…even this podcast…and allowing it to flow through your strengths and your skills and take action to help others. People who don’t take action, aren’t releasing their knowledge into the world. Imagine a running creek of water that is constantly refreshed, taking in new information and sharing it on down the road. If nothing is flowing through you, you’re either a swampland or a flood. If you aren’t gaining anything new to pass along, you’re swampy. If you are only gaining new information and not taking action to let it flow through your, you’re flooding. Other people can tell if you’re swampy or flooding and no one wants to hire someone that is seen as swampy or flooding – not even pageant judges. In this episode, I’ll share with you the 3 simple steps to take action to achieve your big goals!

Before my client commits to a pageant, I always recommend that she talk with former titleholders to best understand her experience from her perspective. With multiple perspectives, you get a stronger view of whether or not this pageant would be a good fit for you. I did this the first time I competed in a state pageant and I learned a TON – nothing that scared me away from the pageant, but every piece of insight and advice set me up for success in my competition. Of course, any time you are asking for anything, even advice, from a former titleholder, you have to approach it with grace and respect. In this episode, I’ll give you a list of what to do and what not to do when approaching a former titleholder of your pageant. http://winapageant.com/55

Today's episode is going to be a little different. I get a lot of questions over email and social media. Quick questions that have a pretty short and to-the-point answer. I always respond to anyone who messages or emails me - so please don't be shy if you have a question. Email Alycia@WinAPageant.com

A few weeks ago, I posted some answers to your questions on YouTube, and I wanted to make sure you got the answers here, too. These are really great questions - most of them are about wardrobe choices for various phases of competition, and there's one whammy one at the end about current events.

Pageant Questions that are answered in this episode:

  1. What are the best colors for interview outfits?
  2. Do I have to get the nude 'tippy top' shoes for swimsuit?
  3. Does it matter if I wear shiny or dull (matte) shoes for interview?
  4. Is it okay to have my evening gown not quite touch the floor?
  5. If I'm competing in the same pageant two years in a row, can I wear the same dress, fun fashion, swimwear, etc?
  6. Do I have to get hair extensions?
  7. What kind of make-up should I use?
  8. What are good snacks to have backstage during my pageant?
  9. How can I avoid/treat blisters at the pageant?
  10. Other than watching the news, are there any great resources for catching up on current events?

This episode uncovers some Pageant Etiquette, which is vital to maintaining your reputation in the pageant industry.

When I judge a pageant, I always have a list of suggestions for each contestant in hopes she cares enough to ask. But sometimes, pageant women feel too embarrassed or like they’re stepping out of line asking for feedback.

In today’s episode, I’m going to teach you two specific ways to get valuable feedback from your pageant judges after the pageant. These approaches have helped me to get feedback from judges in person, via email, over the phone.

Every pageant titleholder has to have autograph cards, not just as a give-away at kid’s events. The autograph cards are vital marketing pieces for your year and must be created with that in mind. In this episode, I break down what to include on your autograph cards (front and back) and how to create and print them without hiring an expensive printing shop. You can see the example at http://www.WinAPageant.com/49

Just like a celebrity or professional athlete, you need a platform – even if your pageant doesn’t require it. A lot of girls think they don’t need it because it’s not a requirement, but without it, you are defeated before you even begin. A platform is what gets you appearances, media coverage, and celeb-status! It has to be connected to your brand, with a strong marketing plan and a powerful legacy project. In this episode, I give you the 6 building blocks needed to create an awesomely powerful platform! Powerful platforms are my specialty – I’ve helped women publish books, get sponsored Youtube channels, and partner with major corporations. If you’re a do-er (not a dreamer), ready to make your big-vision platform a reality, email me at Alycia@WinAPageant.com to learn about how I can help.

Your farewell speech is sort of your final impression. It’s your opportunity to show gratitude to your team and final moment to inspire others and leave a legacy….It’s what you want your fans and supporters to remember of your reign. It’s important to make it humble, yet full of personality, gratitude, and inspiration. Plus, most women will continue to compete in this pageant system or others, so it’s extra-vital that you don’t sound flippant or ungrateful to the pageant community. Also, I don’t want your farewell to be the one that everyone goes to the bathroom during or yawns and whispers through. In this episode, I’ll break down the 5 main components of your Farewell in a beautiful outline, plus I’ll share some specific advice on how to record it so you sound magnificent!

Many pageants invite the contestants to prepare a brief opening statement or a closing statement that is presented during your interview, as an on-stage introduction, or in your on-stage question portion. This is an incredibly important part of your competition and you have to know how to prepare for it so you can start and end strong. Since you have time to prepare for this, the judges will expect you to have full control in this moment to help them really understand you in a very short amount of time. I best way to prepare for writing your statement is to consider the highlights of 3 snapshots in time: your past, your present, and your future. In this episode, I unpack each of these and help you create an awesome intro for your upcoming pageant!

Orientation is a sea of judgment. It’s exciting and equally nerve-wracking. All the would-be titleholders showing up with their best foot forward to prove themselves as the winner. In this episode, I’ll teach you how to show up to your orientation as the actual winner. I want my girls mistaken for the reigning titleholder because this is the first impression you’ll give to the pageant director and to the other girls. You want to be sure it is accurate, inviting, and respectable. I’ll give you 4 steps to prepare you to be the “It” girl, the girl-to-beat, the “is that last year’s winner?” girl at your pageant orientation.

Feb 3, 2016

In this episode, I’m discussing how to dress like a true pageant queen. It’s simple, but not so easy. It comes down to what you have in your closet. And if you’re listening, you need to update your closet. As you grow (up, old, into yourself), you have new priorities, responsibilities, and personality! Whether you like it or not, you’re judged by your appearance and every woman knows that what you wear has a lot to do with how you feel. If you are still holding onto things that no longer represent the new you (or the best you), then you are doing yourself a disservice, and others will know it too. I really love this process because it lets me take a fresh look at who I am and how I want to present who I am to others that don’t know me. And it doesn’t need to be difficult. I broke my process into 7 steps that I’ll share with you in this episode.
