There are plenty of opportunities for you to answer questions during your pageant interview, on-stage question, introduction, pre-pageant media it can get overwhelming to prepare if you have no specific plan. Most women want to be so perfect, so they craft these elaborate answers to every question under the sun. Don't do that. Writing Your pageant answers is a huge mistake!
Instead, I'm gonna teach you what I taught her to help you overcome this crazy desire to be overly (and obnoxiously) prepared.

Today, I'm telling you the truth about the "Fake it 'til you Make it" concept. You've likely heard this phrase before when someone is trying to beef up their confidence toward an effort they aren't prepared for. Many pageant women think "Fake it 'til you Make it" it means to keep pretending you know what you're doing until someone gives you a big break. Those girls never actually make it.

The difference between those that actually Make it really depends on who stops at the fake it part and who moves into the make it phase. The people that have succeeded with this concept are the ones who have found the right tools and put in the work to make it. You have to actively participate I the making part, not just the faking part. In this episode, I'll show you how.

One of the main concerns of some of the loveliest contestants is that they feel they are talking about themselves too much. It makes them uncomfortable, like they are bragging. They say they are just too humble to talk about themselves. This is a lovely quality, and professional suicide. They wish they didn't have to share anything about themselves, but then, how would anyone get to know you?

Sharing your own accolades and being proud of your progress is an important skill in life. You'll attend networking events and people will ask about you, what you do for work, and what you're into for fun.

Believe it or not: people want to know you! They do! To be an exceptional pageant woman, you have to be able to speak about yourself in a positive light.

The most beautiful way to share an accomplishment is to: Share credit with others in the form of gratitude. In this episode, I'm going to teach you how to do just that. Plus, I'll give you five excellent examples of how it can be done.

Wardrobe is always worth considering. It's a contestant's worst nightmare to arrive to the first pageant rehearsal in sneakers and an oversized t-shirt you wore to the gym in college only to find all the other girls dressed in their Sunday best even though the paperwork said to dress comfortably.' Comfortable is a relative adjective. To pageant girls, it means to skip the Jessica Simpson shoes for their Michael Kors wedges and exchange rhinestones and lace for spandex and silk. In today's episode, I'm going to teach you how to decide what to wear to your pageant rehearsal.

I'm gushing at the seams from how proud I am of the women in the Pageant Interview Game Plan. They are so dedicated to their success and by their success' I don't just mean them winning the pageant, but influencing their community in such a powerful way.

The Pageant Interview Game Plan is an online course that consists of 4 modules: Set Your Foundation, Plan Your Answers, Prepare to Dazzle, and Game Day: Showtime!

These are the four steps that must be followed to nail your pageant interview. Each module is broken up into individual lessons that have homework for each one to get you further down the path to success. It's designed to allow you to finish one module every week.

When you join, you have on-going access to it, so there's really no time limit except for when you have to compete, of course!

It comes with a Play Book that serves as a guide to get to know yourself, clarify your mission, research what the pageant is looking for, determine your stance on controversial issues, and tons of stuff that will transport you easily from confusion to clarity.

It also comes with access to a private group on Facebook that is only open to members of the course. This is where I get to see all the magic happening! Every week day, I jump into the Facebook Group and get to answer questions to help my students excel in the program. And, boy-oh-boy are they taking advantage of this personal coaching opportunity!

In this episode, I share some of what is happening in there so you could see if this is a community that may help you with your pageant interview.

You can get all the details about the program at Interview.WinAPageant.com.
I'd love to be your teacher, mentor, and coach to guide you toward a successful pageant interview.
If you know you're ready to make it happen, join us! Go to Interview.WinAPageant.com

I'll see you in the Game Plan!

Politics are a scary topic in pageantry, mostly because we don't know exactly how we should be responding to these questions. I wish I could tell you there was a sure-fire way to answer ANY question and win. There's not. It's all a delicate dance. No matter what, you have to deliver your answer with certainty in what you're saying. In this episode, I give you three simple steps to answer questions confidently no matter what your opinion is.

Controversial questions are the most dreaded of all, sometimes pageant contestants tend to believe that the judges are looking for you to answer the way they would answer so you share their opinion. But honestly, I already know you know that isn't true. Yet, I'd bet you still pray that you are never publicly asked how you feel about gay marriage or abortion especially in the case of rape. That's not what I want for you. Instead, my goal for you is that you WILL be asked these types of questions so that you are given the power to impact people and speak hope, joy, and life into everyone you meet! I'm going to give you the simple elixir to these worries of public humiliation and the catch-22 of controversy.

As a teen and young adult we are surrounded by people telling us what to do, setting boundaries, creating standards and delivering prompts we respond to. Our teachers lead us in school, our parents lead us at home, there's an RA with rules for the dorms, Coach who sets up the drills for practice and the Pageant Director that tells us where to be and when all week.

It's no surprise then that when you walk into your interview, you're expecting the judges to lead you through that process. Please don't. This is where it all goes wrong.

The judges are not the leaders of the interview room. They are looking for the leader and if you expect them to lead you will not be seen as their leader, but rather just another sheep in the herd.

In this episode, I'm going to teach you 2 qualities of leadership that you can employ in your interview room to maintain control and lead your interview.

In this episode, we address the difference between ability to have what we want and willingness to go and get it! Able is having access to the resources to achieve what is great. It's like when you are able to walk. That doesn't mean you're never gonna sit, but you are able to walk if you are willing. Willing is the desire to take action in one direction by leaving the comfort of another. Ability is being able to walk. Willingness is standing up from your comfortable couch. This is how some people live their whole lives...waiting around for opportunities to come to them rather than reaching out and taking them. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. In this episode, I break it down into a simple process. Doing the work is going to be the hardest part.

When you're competing in a pageant with more than 10 contestants, it's likely that so many of the women have the top 5 characteristics that naturally prepare them to stand out in their interview. It isn't enough to just have those 5 characteristics - you have to have a strategy to ensure you'll stand out among the top 10% to win your pageant. In this episode, I'm going to break down 3 specific ways you can get the judges to notice you no matter how many contestants there are.

Pageant women don't have the luxury of throwing away a single SECOND of the interview they are so short so you have to maximize every moment. If you've ever done a pageant interview before, you know that scary feeling of not knowing what the judges are thinking or how you did until finals (Ugh! The worst, right?).

In my experience, I've found that 4 major myths are to blame for that awful pit-of-the-stomach feeling that you get before your interview that leads to no crown at all. I'm going to debunk those myths for you, and show you how to replace them with truly effective strategies that will actually reward your hard work and have you blowing kisses from stage in your new pageant crown.

Did anyone ever tell you to use your interview to let the judges know that you are truly ready for the win? Just because you are competing doesn't mean you're really ready for it. A judge doesn't want to choose someone that isn't truly ready to take on the responsibility of the year. Specifically, your judges want a woman who has a clear goal, who takes action consistently toward her goal, and has a plan to collaborate with the pageant title to further achieve that goal. In this episode, I'll teach you have to show your judges you're ready to win!

In today's episode, we're going to discuss how to calculate the actual value of your pageant prize package. Some women end up winning pageants and then are shocked to discover the prize package is rather sparse and the title is more trouble than it's worth. Once you've calculated the true value of the prize package to you at this moment in your life, you'll be able to make a wiser decision about how to prepare and budget in order to win.

One of the common misconceptions of winning a pageant is the idea that when you win a pageant, you'll be swept away into some fairytale land where you get a business manager, PR specialist and full glam team. The reason people believe this is because this is what happens in some pageants - namely Miss USA or Miss America.

But, for most pageant winners, this is not the case. In fact, when you win your pageant you are actually expected to be the one to book your own appearances. Sometimes you are contractually obligated to do 2 or more per month, so this is a necessary skill long before you win the title. In this episode, I give you the 7 steps to book appearances like a true pageant professional!

I'm sure you've seen a pageant girl with the 'deer in the headlights' syndrome. It's sad and awful for everyone including the woman in the spotlights! She doesn't even know she's doing it. If she did, don't you think she'd stop? Of course she would, and that's what I'm here for. To help you make sure for sure that isn't you!

In this episode, I'll present the one thing that you need to do every time you step onto stage to avoid being the deer in pageant headlights. It's not complex, but it does take some practice.

One of the greatest skills that pageant women learn is to convey memorized material in a way that feels new every time. It's a secret of actors, speakers, and media professionals. And it's a vital skill to win a pageant.

Usually, when a woman attempts to memorize a speech, it generally loses emotional qualities that make it feel real, relatable, and engaging. One of my greatest pet-peeves, and that of every judge and pageant director and audience member... is a boring, monotone on stage introduction or answer to an on-stage question. It's painful to listen to, makes you pity the poor girl, and gets hideously low scores.

I've heard so many well-written introductions that get wasted away with no emotion. In this episode, you'll learn how to add emotion into your introduction to help you memorize it without boring the audience, but rather spiking their attention.

In this episode, I'll teach you how to differentiate your platform from all other contestants by creating a unique stance of what you believe. If you go through the steps I outline in this episode, not only will you be able to write an essay that is totally unique and descriptive, but you'll also be able to explain how it's different from others to the media, your judges, and sponsors. It's fun to imagine how you can make an impact on the world by standing for what you believe.

I call this the Perfect Pageant Platform Outline because it's simple, real, and will differentiate you from the competition. It consists of 5 questions. The answer to each question becomes a paragraph in your essay. Depending on length, you may combine some of the paragraphs, but you should still have 5 distinct parts in this order. I'll give you all 5 questions and then we'll unpack each one.
